About
Sophia Loffreda is an Italian-Canadian screenwriter and director from Montréal, Canada. She has never seen a polar bear, but she does say 'sorry' too often (it's is a thing she’s working on). She holds a Journalism and Creative Writing degree from Concordia University and has studied cross-cultural barriers and gender at the Université de Paris. After working at a tiny unimportant company called Apple Inc., she interned at the Cannes Film festival, the UCB Del Close Marathon, and worked as a Producers' Assistant at Picture This Productions, helping to develop television content for APTN.
A comedy nerd, Sophia moved to New York city to study improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade and screenwriting at NYFA before moving to Austin -- where she is currently pursuing her MFA in Film and TV production at the University of Texas at Austin. Her comedies explore the intricacies of female relationships, sports, and culture.
